Detailed Product Description
Portable Gas Detector Description
E4000 is a portable model with multiple gas detectors. It can continuously measure the concentrations of up to four combustible gases, oxygen, and toxic gases in the surrounding environment, and issue an alarm when the gas levels are abnormal.By adopting interchangeable smart sensor module, it can be made for detecting 2 gases, 3 gases and 4 gases.
It is applicable to explosion-proof places: teelworks, petrochemical plant, oil industry, shipbuilding yard, sewage treatment plant, mine, power supply works etc.
Portable Gas Detector Work Principle
1. Electrochemical sensor
Principle: Using the active chemical properties of the gas to be measured, it has reducing or oxidizing properties. In the process of participating in the chemical reaction, electrons are released or absorbed. A large number of electrons form a current. The current size is proportional to the gas concentration. The concentration of the gas to be measured can be measured by measuring the current size.
Advantages: The performance is relatively stable. Most toxic and harmful gases can be measured by electrochemical sensors, and the measurement linearity is very good.
Disadvantages:Electrochemical sensors are consumables with a relatively short service life. The service life is 1-2 years in general environment, and needs to be replaced every 3-6 months in harsh environment. The maintenance cost is relatively high.
Use: It is mainly used for the detection of toxic and harmful gases.
2. Catalytic combustion sensor
Principle: Utilize the principle of heat released by the combustion reaction of combustible gas on its surface, that is, the temperature of the platinum wire coil increases during combustion, and the resistance value of the wire increases. By measuring the change in the resistance value of the platinum wire, the concentration of the combustible gas can be known. It is suitable for measuring low-concentration combustible gas.
Advantages: The performance is relatively stable. Most combustible gases can be measured by catalytic combustion sensors. The measurement linearity is very good, and the cost is lower than that of electrochemical sensors.
Disadvantages: Strict process conditions are required. Dust particles and mist that affect the life and processing efficiency of the catalyst are not allowed in the gas, and substances that poison the catalyst are not allowed to prevent catalyst poisoning.
Use: Mainly used to detect more combustible gas.
