 Alcohol Tester Principle 

Semiconductor type using tin oxide semiconductor as a sensor, this kind of semiconductor device has gas-sensitive characteristics, when the gas in contact with its sensitive gas concentration increases, its external resistance value is reduced, semiconductor breathalyzer is made of this principle. The semiconductor is sensitive to different gases at different operating temperatures, so the semiconductor breath alcohol tester uses heating elements to heat the sensor to a certain temperature, at which temperature the sensor has a high sensitivity to alcohol.
